An Interior Plant Service that Filters the Air You Breathe

"Americans, on average, spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, where the concentrations of some pollutants are often 2 to 5 times higher than typical outdoor concentrations." -EPA

Modern building materials, furnishings and household and office products off-gas pollutants into the air we breathe every day. The building techniques that make our homes and offices energy efficient limit ventilation, leading to stagnant and diminished air quality. Living Air's Plant systems use nature to remove pollutants, revitalize your indoor air and beautify your space.

Our Plants

The plants we offer are all great at filtering indoor air and are low light tolerant.  Living Air's specially designed planters contain a ventilation system that works in conjunction with a specialized potting mix containing activated carbon to filter your indoor air.

The system works thanks to the natural ecosystem surrounding the root ball.  First, the ventilation system draws the indoor air pollutants through the plant's growing media, trapping them in the activated carbon.  Then, the microbes that live within the root zone consume the pollutants, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde, xylene and trichloroethylene, which are produced by off-gassing present in all buildings.  The microbes render these contaminants inert, and purified air is forced out of the planter via the ventilation system into the indoor environment.
